New track, new challenges at Mini Indy Speedway

New track, new challenges at Mini Indy Speedway

It was an exciting weekend at Mini Indy Speedway for the 2017 running of the Robbie Stanley Memorial. It was Colts first trip to the speedway and it posed quite a challenge. "This track is tippy" Said Colt when he first saw the much higher banked racing surface. Good lessons were learned throughout the event.

Saturday started off with practice and early on the car looked great. Passing all cars on track it looked like Colt was race ready. The pill draw put Colt outside row 2 and after a couple laps he made a move for third. The 3rd place driver turned down on Colt causing him to spin into the grass infield. Ended up with a 4th place finish.

The feature saw Colt line up inside of row 2 and after a poor start Colt was shuffled back to 4th. Due some late race cautions he ended up P5 and definitely took this event as a learning experience.

Colt will be back in action at the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend for the 2017 Battle at the Brickyard.
