After not racing since the Battle At the Brickyard at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Colt Johnson has put in a lot of time and hard work preparing for his Blue Rookie debut. Last night at NCQMA was his first race in the new division where the cars are nearly a second faster each lap and the competition is stronger.
He more than exceeded expectations. After a great pill draw put him on the pole he led every lap of the race that was slowed by several cautions. His starts and restarts were very well done. Beckett Wiand was ran a strong second throughout the event but Colt was able to hold on and take the checker flag.
"I've been excited about racing again and have missed it since my last Red Rookie race. I want to thank everyone who helps me and gets my car ready each week" said Colt Johnson. When asked how was the race he added "Totally awesome, I love going faster and racing this car".
Colt will be back in racing action at NCQMA Saturday for his second Blue Rookie event. More information and merchandise is available at www.coltenjohnson.com .
